Irina graduated from university as a handicraft teacher and was giving visual arts and drawing lessons. She has been working in another field for several years now, but did not give up on her love for handicrafts.
The entrepreneur started making brooches in her free time. Irina’s colleagues liked her creations and advised her to try selling them. The woman took part in a Christmas market and sold everything! At first, her brooches were made in a simple manner out of different materials. Then, Irina found a niche: she started producing only leather brooches, which were elegant and with her special “handwriting”.
Irina is ready to try something new and is currently obsessed with beading. She learns a lot and is ready for more challenges. Even now, Irina bought a device for making lace out of beads. She is going to acquire lace beading techniques and is inspired by masterpieces of other craftsmen.
Irina does not really consider her activities a business, but admits that an income she gets from sales of her products is a good support. She does not like working to special orders: at first, she creates items and then looks for customers. In the majority of cases, her clients are friends, colleagues and their friends, whorecommend her products to each other. People also find Irina’s creations in Facebook groups and at handicraft markets.
