Sigita Kvedarauskienė opened a dumpling place in a small town. The woman says it was “an ultimate dream”. Although fifteen years have passed since the dream germinated, Sigita says that as soon as she decided it was time to start acting, the circumstances seemingly naturally shaped the way it was necessary. Sigita lease-purchased a building in her home town Joniškėlis, spent 5 months refurbishing and started her business. When asked why she chose dumplings, the women openly admits that she has loved dumplings since childhood, and her favourites were dumplings with lung filling that her mom used to make after slaughtering a pig. Now, the dumpling place offers twenty different types of dumplings to try. The business produces about 150 kg of dumplings per week.
Sigita’s husband joins the conversation and assures: “My wife is one of those people who are afraid of nothing. She does not let me grow old either. She is good at teaching, but not so good at leading; she is just too kind.” Sigita smiles and says that she always does her best for her family, business and also for other people: “Over time, I become attached to them and they become close to me like family”. The homestead of Kvedaravičiai family boasts a small park with a meditative angel, which was brought as a gift by a family who had lost their home in a fire and have lived in the homestead for 2 months. “The angel reminds me that there will always be people who have had it worse than I. I just sit by it, reflect on things and go to work again. When one works, time flows differently”, says Sigita.
